Race Relations Day celebrations, at Timaru’s Caroline Bay Hall, continued with more Chinese martial arts, Latin American dancing, entertainment from a large contingent from Vanuatu and concluded with a rousing performance by Robert Fugah from Ghana, and his devotees of West Afican drumming.

The South Canterbury Tongan Society’s Ma’uluulu (Sitting Dance), Te Aitarakihi kapa haka, Filipino dancing, Chinese martial arts and song feature in these images from the Race Relations Day Celebrations at the Caroline Bay Hall. A big crowd helped the Aoraki Multicultural Council (& Aoraki Migrant Centre) celebrate Race Relations Day at the Caroline Bay Hall, Timaru, yesterday. Fantastic food and entertainment was a highlight. These images feature a welcome from Te Aitarakihi Ropu, Kate Elsen, Jo Goodhew and Bollywood and Filipino dancers.
