Pasifika Youth from Timaru, Ashburton and the West Coast gathered to celebrate Pasifika Culture and promote well-being in Timaru yesterday, at an event organised by Fale Pasifika o Aoraki staff Ofa Boyle, Losa Taufalele and Mele Fakatou.
The South Canterbury Indian Cultural Society celebrated Diwali, the Festival of Lights, at the Waimataitai School Hall, Timaru, last night. A happy, colourful gathering full of dance, food and friendship.
Soon into the second half of their game against NZ Marist the NZ Heartland XV were down 36 – 19, but they stormed back with some great tries and a penalty to pip NZ Marist 41 -39. A very entertaining game at Alpine Energy Stadium, Timaru.
