With a replacement referee, Jimmy Mee having retired injured, the second half started as the first finished, but Geraldine fought back strongly in the fourth quarter and were rewarded with two well taken tries. Pleasant Point had done enough though, and took home the Matthew Fifield Cup.

The first quarter of the Geraldine v Pleasant Point Senior A fixture, for the Matthew Fifield Cup, was very even, with both sides struggling to break through stout defence. However the second quarter saw Pleasant Point edge ahead with a series of tries to lead 24-0 at half-time.
Wonderful weather in Geraldine for the start of the 2019 club rugby season. The senior B clash between the hosts and Pleasant Point was a close and physical encounter, with Pleasant Point prevailing narrowly by 12 – 8.
